Trans Health and Gender Inclusivity: Navigating the Health Care System, and Accessing Gender Affirming Health Services

This session will provide information on the complexities of gender identity, language, and gender transition processes. We will explore challenges and barriers that members of the trans and gender diverse community face in accessing health care, impacts on health system use and health of the community, and how you and your teams can work to reduce these barriers to provide the best care possible. 

Learning Objectives:

●      Understand gender identity, gender diversity, and gender transition, and recognize challenges and barriers facing the trans and gender diverse community in accessing health services.

●      Understand and implement strategies for creating safer, more inclusive spaces and experiences in the health system for members of the trans and gender diverse community.
